It goes in the center stream. To post an editor's post, a user must have editorial privileges for the topic or section where the post is filed.
This post is filed in both the Front Page section and the OT Business topic.
When it is created, the editor can enter the # of days it will remain on page one. That way, the original content -- an editor's post -- will slowly move down the stream, with the automated content surrounding it.
Editor's posts give topic and site editors the ability to use OpenTopic like a blog. The automated content, via Twitter and RSS feeds, ensures that the site always has fresh content. Editor's posts ensure that topics and sections develop an editorial flavor. Mixed with smart programming, original editorial gives each topic a voice of its own.
Additionally, any user can create a Conversation. These are also blog posts, but they show up in the right-hand column.
To further encourage community participation, users can add web links, videos and images using the Community Add Links tool.
